 « Autodidact and passionate photographer, I have been walking around Phnom Penh with my camera since my arrival here in November 2007. Step by step, I accumulated pictures of moments and subjects that touched me, that told me stories. I have now gathered enough material to be able to tell that story further through an exhibition. The title of the project is “ Phnom Penh, Associations d’idées”. It displays scenes of Cambodia, each picture being linked to the next one by a common element. Through 25 pictures, the visitors discovers the country, meets some characters and can start all over again by searching for the link between the last and the first image » « Photographe autodidacte et passionné, je parcours les rues de Phnom Penh avec mon appareil depuis mon arrivée en novembre dernier. A force d’accumuler des images de sujets qui me touchent, à force d’essayer de raconter des histoires avec mes photographies, j’ai rassemblé assez de matière pour composer une exposition. Celle-ci a pour titre « Phnom Penh, Associations d’idées ». Elle met en scène des images du Cambodge, installées de telle manière qu’un élément d’une photographie se retrouve dans la suivante. En 25 photographies le visiteur se promène ainsi dans le pays, rencontre quelques personnages et peut recommencer la boucle en cherchant ce qui relie la dernière à la première » Sylvain Chabloz |
